In addition to the eight Search Methods contained in the Survey Point Management Window, there are six additional Search Engines available. These include the NGS Point ID (PID) Search Engine, the Township, Range, and Section Search Engine, Route and Milepost Search Engine, Horizontal (Latitude/Longitude) Search Engine, History Date Search Engine, and Un-Audited Records Search Engine.
In each Search Engine, you simply enter the search criteria on the left side of the window and select the search button. The results of the search will be displayed on the right side of the window. If no results are displayed, there are no records matching your search criteria in the database. To clear the search criteria for another search, simply select the clear button or overwrite the old search criteria. The exception to this is the Un-Audited Records Search Engine. There are no fields for search criteria, when opened, it automatically searches and displays all Un-Audited Records.
An additional feature of each search engine is the capability to go directly to each Survey Point Record from the results of the search. When the Search Engine has returned the results of the search, you can go directly to each Survey Point Record by double-clicking on the record to which you want to go to on the right side of the search engine.
Search Engine Results Listings and Detailed Report
Each of the six Search Engines provides the capability to print out a listing of the Search Results. After the Search Engine returns the results of the search, simply select the Print Button on the toolbar or the Print Option from the File Menu. In addition, if you want a detailed Survey Point Report for a specific Survey Point from the results of the search, simply select the Survey Point, making sure that the pointing hand is to the left of the Survey Point Record you want, and select the Report Button to the left of the results.
